Parents Mini Getaway

Tired. Burnt out. Not a whole lot left to give.

That’s how Sam and I had been feeling leading up to our getaway down at the Cape.

We’ve all been there, right?

It’s been such a busy season and I know when it’s time to need a pause. Between keeping up with my almost two-year-old, my full-time job as a social media manager, teaching yoga, starting my side business and house hunting - I’d say it was time for some serious r&r.

We all know you can’t pour from an empty cup. Gotta fill up first. Connecting within just allows me more to offer out.

We booked an Airbnb in Orleans, MA. A cottage right on the water, knowing we wouldn’t have to go far for paradise. (P.S. Airbnb is always our favorite travel option. You get really cool experiences, meet locals and can stay in super interesting locations that hotels can’t always offer.) I’d be happy to share details about this specific Airbnb with anyone who wants to book it!

Below are some photos from Sam’s birthday and the past few days in/around our little cottage. The weather was perfect (we’ve waited so long for this!), which has made our time away that much sweeter. Of course, I was missing my little man oh-so-much. By two days in, I was feeling it and longing to hold him. He’s our world. We really, really missed him!

Most of the trip looked like us down at the shore, driving around the cute Cape towns, me doing yoga, sipping on Bellinis and laughing with each other.

Oh, one more thing… before I forget. Here are the food highlights (duh) for all my fellow foodies:

  • Sam's birthday dinner at Bluefins Sushi & Sake Bar

  • Tasty handcrafted cocktails at Del Mar Bar & Bistro

  • The most delicious and organic lunch at Winslow's Tavern under the trees

  • Blueberry crunch pancakes and Nanny's potato pancakes at Hole in One Breakfast & Lunch

  • Acai bowls and warm cheesy coxinhas at Viv's Kitchen

And now…. to the photos:
