What Spring Has Looked Like So far

It has been a busy spring so far! Between work, the kids, family life, house projects and all the other to-dos the weeks bring, I’ve been finding myself exhausted by the end of most days. (Who can relate?)

I kicked off spring with a snowy solo walk at Moore State Park. I remember the morning so vividly. Sam brought the kids to school and I drove over to the park to reflect and set some intentions for the new season. It was a gorgeous, quiet morning. I was the only one there. I did some yoga in a field and felt truly at peace.

I sort of live for moments like that, when I can get out of my head and into my body. When my work days start, it’s rare that I can feel that kind of grounding (though the goal is to always try.)

Later in March, my mom and I went away (just us two!) for four days to Fort Lauderdale, FL. We used to travel a ton together back in my early twenties, but between work, moving around and having kids, the years really got away from me. So happy to bring back our fun tradition again. Feels really good!

Check out some pics from our past mother-daughter travels:

We are the best travel buddies. We enjoy all the same things that vacations can bring — rest, relaxation, beach time, great food, and reading. It was lovely to get to do those things without the distractions of work and little, needy hands grabbing me. 😅 (You know I adore my children… but it’s always nice for a mom to get some self-care time in, and if you have little kids like me, you really get it.)

Fort Lauderdale was great! I found us an awesome Airbnb with a private pool and so much indoor space to lounge. We were close to the beach and near some nice walking paths. (If you ever need a recc, I’m happy to share.)

We also loved taking the direct flight from Worcester, which is incredibly close to us. It was so easy and made the stress that can sometimes come with travel a breeze.

Here are some snapshots from our trip:

Easter was nice, but there were some family sicknesses going around so it was rather low key (honestly, we didn’t mind it). Ruby got sick IN a restaurant (like everywhere) and it immediately changed up our plans (minus a fun egg hunt right before).

Kids… you just never know what’s going to go down really. 🙃 Am I right?

There have been so many sweet family moments tucked in between all these “bigger” ones. Moments on our porch, in our yard, on our new swing set, getting ice cream, at the park…

Spring in New England offers such a beautiful opportunity to get out more — and for me, that’s really when I awaken again. With the sun shining and longer days… I’m thriving, y’all!

Also, I realize I don’t have many photos here of Sam. Totally not on purpose. 😅 I guess I just take a lot of photos of the kids and selfies with them?! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I began teaching yoga through Holden Recreation this spring, too! It totally happened in an organic kind of way.

Here’s what happened: I mentioned I’d be teaching in my backyard this summer on my own social media, and an old friend who just so happens to run Holden’s programming reached out regarding teaching through the town. I couldn’t resist! So touched she reached out/thought of me. And, the yoga space just so happens to be a minute away. So many wins here!

I have been loving it — meeting people, flowing together again and stepping into the teacher role which brings me a lot joy.

Much love to everyone who is signing up and sharing their love of yoga with me. If you follow me on social media @thegoodgetter (Facebook and Instagram), I’ll be posting about all my upcoming classes.

My sweet friend Kim got married to Rob — and we had a total blast at her south shore wedding! Weddings always fill me up and show what life’s all about. She looked stunning and we couldn’t be happier for the newlyweds!

These have been all the highlights so far. ☺️

Of course there have been days the kids have been sick, packed work weeks, early wakings, teething, tantrums, car troubles, unexpected expenses and crazy schedules (just have to keep it real with you) — but all in all, life is so good and I am beyond thankful for all that’s happening in life. So much good. So much joy.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy your own spring delights!
Ari
